Bio:
Rosa is an artist and filmmaker from Cumbria, northern England. Her creative and research practice explores the entanglements of place, history, ecology, and people through an “elemental” lens (mostly the wind). She graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in the History and Philosophy of Science, going on to undertake an MFA in Creative Documentary by Practice within UCL’s Public Anthropology Department.

Context:
Rosa got involved with the collective after submitting her film to the festival open call.

DRINK THE RIVER (2024)

Video game

A video game that seeks to highlight the realities of sewage pollution into the river (the Eden is the 10th most polluted river in the UK), whilst offering a hopeful reimagination redrawing boundaries between ourselves and the leaky river.

90 MILES (2024)

An “armchair voyage” through the online archive of historical and contemporary maps of the River Eden in Cumbria, accompanied by an experimental soundtrack composed from a swim by the artist - converted to MIDI and then transformed into Logic SoCal drums.

WHEN THE CROWS WALK HOME (2023)

An embodied investigation into Britain's only named wind - the Helm. A walk through the fellside - the viewer is taken on a journey with (and by) the wind, moving through seasons and stories as the wind becomes as wind(ow) to the place.
