We offer free and open-access resources that you are welcome to use.

Website

Our website is central for our collective mission, providing simultaneously a resource for our friends, members and onlookers and a platform to elevate the reach of our members. These are the principal aims of the website:

  • To provide an online archive of the films we have screened. All contributors to our screening events will be provided with the option to host their film on our site in order to disseminate work and provide a learning resource for visitors to the site. Decision-making authority regarding if and when to host a film on the site will always lie with the filmmaker. The filmmaker can revoke access to their film being featured in our online archive if they ever decide so.

  • To be a point of contact between our contributors and members, and the public - the site is a place to insert a CV, portfolio, contact details, links to other works and an artist bio.

  • To feature writers whose work relates to the aims of KONTEKST

Whatsapp Groups

Whatsapp Groups are organised and utilised as per the below:

  • KONTEKST community chat - We recommend everyone to join this one. The community chat is for us to: organise group activities together, exchange resources, internally promote our work or any interesting projects/events we know of, propose ideas for projects, get info about our KONTEKST group trips and activities. Great way to make new friends and start new collaborations.

  • GET INVOLVED: info board - KONTEKST admin team will post here summaries of our weekly meetings, ask you for opinions and do call-outs for various small tasks that need to be done to keep the project running. Join if you want to be a up-to-date with what we do and to be part of our decision-making process as we are currently working on the 2nd edition of KONTEKST Film Fest 📽️🍿

  • Admin Group - where day-to-day management of the collective, planning of events and organisation of the KONTEKST resources is discussed. Members are free to join the group to keep up to date with admin activities even if they are not able to contribute currently but wish to in the future.
    Access to the admin group and resources is subject to a safeguarding verification in the best interest of our collective’s members and affiliates.

Instagram Page

Our Instagram page will be a first point of contact for many of our activities, specifically as per the below:

  • Promotion of KONTEKST, our events and our collaborators. We are happy to use our platform to promote your events/projects - contact us!

  • Learning resource for people interested in learning more about multisensory & visual anthropology.

  • A networking tool: as we started off as a group of Goldsmiths, University of London graduates, the profile follows people from our visual anthropology circles.

  • Database for creators: we repost opportunities such as film festival deadlines, free courses, as well as interesting events.

  • Featuring writing and research done by the members of our collective.

KONTEKST Calendar

We have an open access shared Google calendar with events happening in London and around, to which all members of the collective are encouraged to add events that others may find interesting. It’s a collectively built resource.

Every now and then we will organise group trips to some of these events together. Please join the KONTEKST community chat on our WhatsApp group to be updated.
