Bio:
Emelie is Swedish/Norwegian photographer and researcher, who works in the intersection of politics, academia and art in multimodal ways with alternative, open and collaborative ethnographic methods. Most of their collaboration has taken place along the rivers Klarälven, Zambezi and Thames. Having previously worked mostly in international development and human rights, they write and work around climate justice, critical and queer ecology (particularly in relation to conservation practices), interspecies relationships in forest landscapes, (sub)cultures, care and belonging.

Context:
Emelie is a 2024 graduate of MA Visual Anthropology at Goldsmiths, University of London where she met other KONTEKST members.

KONTEKST:
2024: joined the collective in its formative stage and led the first meetings, drafted the manifesto;
2025: facilitated
KONTEKST Film Fest: ARCHIVE (programming, curation, promo, design, comms) and featured her short film Kära Karin;
Emelie is currently a member of KONTEKST’s admin team.

Ongoing collaborative short film raising questions about the preservation and ethical use of archives (family archives in particular) when the ones who could provide context or consent are no longer present.
